Renders & animations

I like creating animations that communicate. Every render and every animation is a chance to experiment with new tools, techniques and ways of bringing a concept to life.

PurposeRendering contest on everyday objects
SoftwareKeyShot · Rhinoceros

I experimented with the properties of light, creating noise and dust crossed by rays of light filtered through a roller blind, to capture those distinctive, eye-catching textures we see when we wake up.

PurposeRendering contest on everyday objects
SoftwareKeyShot · Rhinoceros

I modelled it in 3D, built every material from scratch, illustrated the graphics, added imperfections and gave the labels relief. The aim was to reproduce each material in as much detail as possible.

PurposeExploring tools
SoftwareBlender
  • Full scene modelling using my own and third-party assets.
  • Node-based material development, adjusting variables to optimise the texturing.
  • Vegetation generated with specialised asset packs and plug-ins.
  • Direction of the scene, lighting and camera lens properties.

PurposeExploring techniques and tools
SoftwareBlender
  • Physics simulation of the curtains, defining how they hang, crease and move in the wind.
  • Physics simulation of the cushions inflating, applying gravity and accentuating the creases by hand with brushes.
  • Rug fibres adjusted by hand for a more natural look.
  • Node-based material development, controlling the position, depth and tiling of the textures.
  • Vases modelled from meshes.
